Kalen DeBoer didn't exactly prove himself a worthy successor to Nick Saban in his first season at Alabama. The Crimson Tide finished 9-4 in 2024, with three of those losses against unranked opponents, and they missed the first 12-team College Football Playoff. Imagine the unrest if DeBoer doesn't lead his second Alabama team to the playoff this season. On the bright side, DeBoer has a history of stepping up in Year 2. The last six Alabama coaches did the same. Veteran journalist and analyst Kevin Scarbinsky puts DeBoer's position in perspective on the latest edition of Scarbo Knows.
